Dana Farber Gene Display

The Dana Farber Cancer Institute Gene Display is a permanent donor recognition system developed in collaboration with Roll Barresi & Associates. Unique color-coded gene sequences generated by ground-breaking gene therapy research at DFCI inspired the large display consisting of two 40ft x 5ft wall-mounted cabinets with a total of 2,600 individually programmable "genes" (frosted acrylic squares). A full-color, programmable LED lighting system is used to display color patterns that directly represent gene therapies that are currently in development at DFCI. The display cycles through 10 gene patterns with a soothing blend transition designed with the peace and health of the patients in mind.
